If there is anything that annoys me every day, or to be more precise, every night in many years when finishing my day, it is insomnia. I was prescribed long sleep pills (though it is not a good idea) and had to endure it. If I had difficulty sleeping before, now I could not manage it unless I take sleeping pills. There is mounting evidence that we often lose touch with sleep. Technology, stress, pills and heavy workload, they all contribute to insomnia. And I bet that everyone who reads the lists below has struggled with sleeplessness for many nights.
Below are some home remedies you could apply when having trouble sleeping:
- Tart cherry juice
½ cup of lemon juice Tart is a delicious way to fall asleep and also a sleeping assistant. Lemon juice is a natural sleeping assistant as it is full of Tryptophan. Tryptophan is an important amino acid covering serotonin, and then it covers melatonin. Melatonin helps maintain sleep and wake up period by causing drowsy state and lowering our body temperature, while cooperating with the center brain to make our biological clock work consistently. Its production is hindered by light but is published in darkness/ little light.

Room direction is not only about decoration but also attraction for eyes: it is a philosophy of instructing how to arrange room, things and furniture… to maximize the positive energy in living condition. Below are some tips for improving your rooms so that you could enjoy the rest of your night:
- Create the positive energy and help it flow by keeping air fresh, best with open window. Try to have some windows for natural light to move in.
- Arrange the bed so that you could see the door. Not being able to see the door could cause a feeling of anxiety.
- Keep your room clean and neat with a balanced view. Mess and rubbish could represent unfinished business, which prevents you from taking a rest in your own room. It is noted that it may also affect your sexual life.
Valerian is a healthy plant with roots used in some ways as sleeping pills. It is expected to work by increasing the level of GABA, adjusting the activities of brain cells while having relieving power. Because of its relieving power, it is also known as a natural way for killing anxiety and poison – other pills also increase GABA however more than valerian.
You need 1 spoon of smashed coffee and dried valerian, filter, and 8 oz. of boiled sugared water. Fill your cups with boiled water to make it hot. Put a spoon of coffee Valerian rooted into your filter. Boil 8 oz. of water. Take the water out of the heat and then pour all the hot water. Put the filter into the cup and then wait for about 15 minutes. Undercover all the things and be ready to enjoy a peaceful night. Add milk or honey if you want to.
- Keep your schedule, arrange holidays and write your diaries
Humans are entertaining creatures and our bodies could work well if everything is on its schedule. For example, exercise spontaneously some days will not help much, but exercise every day for 30 minutes does make a difference. Sleep is too. Create a peaceful ceremony that you do every night before going to bed and then you could easily transit to sleeping. Ceremony is also for relaxing and getting rid of all anxiety and busy thoughts inside your head.
Some ideas include drinking warm water 30 minutes before going to bed, reading a chapter of one book every night, taking a shower with warm water. Add some of your favorite essential oil to have some light benefits of the treatment.
Chamomile has long been a reliable cure. It helps loosen your muscles, and it is believed to be likely to have an element called apigenin, connecting with GABA affecting center brain and drowsiness. Some scientists do not agree with the apeginin theory and think that any other elements in chamomile could have the effect like sleeping pills. Any ways, it is delicious and makes you drowsy.
You need ½ cup of chamomile, honey, and milk and lemon water (optional). You should try fresh flowers (German type is the best) or dried flowers instead. Put the fresh flowers into cups and boil them in bottles. Pour the water on flowers in the bottles. Leave it for 5-6 minutes and serve hot. Use the same process with dried flowers but use 2 spoons of dried flowers instead. Add honey and milk. Add lemon water for the best flavor.
Also, chamomile tea helps deal with sleep apnea as well.
If you exercise regularly, you will sleep better. Not only will you sleep better but you will also have more energy when you are conscious – not because you sleep better but exercise have an amazing effect so that when you sleep you will have more power. So before going to bed, remember to exercise by yoga to get ready for a sleep.
